Privacy Notice
Plain English, no small print games. This explains what happens to information sent to COOPER through this website.
Last updated: August 2026
Who is responsible for your information
COOPER is the trading name of Daniel Cooper, a sole trader based in Farnham, Surrey, United Kingdom. Daniel Cooper is the data controller for information collected through this website.
COOPER can be contacted at hello@cooperbusiness.co.uk or on 07850 344526.
What COOPER collects and why
When an enquiry form is completed, COOPER collects the details the user chooses to provide. Name, business name, email address and message are needed so the enquiry can be understood and answered. A contact number, business location, sector, business address, website and approximate budget are optional and help Daniel provide a more useful response.
COOPER also records the page the form was submitted from and the time of submission. This is used to route the enquiry correctly and help block automated spam.
Where COOPER sends a client proposal, the proposal content, recipient name and email address, when the proposal was sent and viewed, and any acceptance submitted are stored. An acceptance record includes the name and email entered, the time of acceptance, limited technical information such as browser details and IP address, and a fingerprint of the terms shown at the time. This creates a reliable record of the business agreement and helps prevent disputes or misuse.
The lawful basis for handling enquiry information is legitimate interests: responding to a business enquiry deliberately sent to COOPER. Where a contract exists, the basis is performance of that contract.
What COOPER does not do
- COOPER never sells personal information.
- COOPER never shares or trades details with third parties for marketing.
- Submitting an enquiry does not add anybody to a marketing list.
- This website does not use tracking or advertising cookies.
Who processes information on COOPER's behalf
COOPER uses a small number of established service providers to run the website and handle enquiries:
- A cloud database and hosting provider, which stores enquiries and serves the website.
- Resend, an email delivery provider, which sends enquiry notifications, client proposals and acceptance confirmations.
Some providers may process data outside the UK. Where that happens, transfers are covered by appropriate safeguards such as UK international data transfer agreements or standard contractual clauses.
How long information is kept
Enquiries that do not lead to work are kept for up to 24 months so there is a record of the conversation, then deleted. Where work goes ahead, COOPER keeps records needed for the engagement, including issued proposals and acceptance records, and for UK tax and accounting purposes, normally six years.
Confidentiality
Business information shared with COOPER is treated as confidential. Access to enquiries is restricted to Daniel. Where a piece of work involves commercially sensitive information, COOPER can sign a non-disclosure agreement before work begins.
Cookies and analytics
This website does not set advertising or tracking cookies. Only cookies or browser storage that are strictly necessary to serve the site and keep an administrator signed in are used.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law, users can ask COOPER to:
- Provide a copy of the information held about them.
- Correct information that is wrong or incomplete.
- Delete information where there is no ongoing legal reason to keep it.
- Restrict or object to how information is used.
- Provide information in a portable format.
Email hello@cooperbusiness.co.uk and Daniel will respond within one month. Anyone who is not satisfied with how information has been handled can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
