Privacy Notice
Plain English, no small print games. This explains what happens to the information you send me through this website.

Who is responsible for your information
COOPER is the trading name of Daniel Cooper, a sole trader based in Farnham, Surrey, United Kingdom. I am the data controller for the information collected through this website.
You can contact me at hello@cooperbusiness.co.uk or on 07850 344526.
What I collect and why
When you complete the enquiry form I collect the details you choose to give me. Your name, business name, email address and message are needed so that I can understand your enquiry and reply to it. A contact number, business location, sector, business address, website and approximate budget are optional, and only help me give you a more useful answer.
I also record the page you submitted the form from and the time you submitted it. That is used to route the enquiry correctly and to help block automated spam.
The lawful basis for handling this information is legitimate interests: responding to a business enquiry you have deliberately sent me. Where you have entered a contract with me, the basis is performance of that contract.
What I do not do
- I never sell your information.
- I never share or trade your details with third parties for marketing.
- I do not add you to a marketing list because you sent an enquiry.
- I do not use tracking or advertising cookies on this website.
Who processes it on my behalf
To run this website and handle enquiries I use a small number of established service providers, acting on my instructions:
- A cloud database and hosting provider, which stores enquiries and serves the website.
- Resend, an email delivery provider, which sends the notification email for your enquiry to my inbox.
Some providers may process data outside the UK. Where that happens, transfers are covered by appropriate safeguards such as UK international data transfer agreements or standard contractual clauses.
How long I keep it
Enquiries that do not lead to work are kept for up to 24 months so that I have a record of the conversation, then deleted. Where we go on to work together, I keep the records needed for the engagement and for UK tax and accounting purposes, normally six years.
Confidentiality
Anything you tell me about your business is treated as confidential. Access to enquiries is restricted to me. Where a Business Review or project involves commercially sensitive information, I am happy to sign a non-disclosure agreement before we start.
Cookies and analytics
This website does not set advertising or tracking cookies. Only cookies or browser storage that are strictly necessary to serve the site and to keep an administrator signed in are used.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask me to:
- Give you a copy of the information I hold about you.
- Correct anything that is wrong or incomplete.
- Delete your information, where I have no ongoing legal reason to keep it.
- Restrict or object to how I use it.
- Provide your information in a portable format.
Email hello@cooperbusiness.co.uk and I will respond within one month. If you are not happy with how I have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
